The Corporate Social Responsibility Society is excited to announce this year’s theme for CORE: The Ripple Effect.
The ripple effect is primarily identified with the image of ever-expanding ripples across water caused simply by one object dropped into it. It conveys that the effect of a single action can resonate incrementally and last far beyond the initial impact.
CORE 2011 featured a case competition hosted by Talisman Energy that allowed students to develop CSR ideas within a real-world business framework. Giving students the chance to foster creativity and think about problems in a new and innovative way, the case competition allows participants to apply CSR concepts and strengthen their understanding of a socially responsible mindset. With past competitions revolving around numerous industries and testing various competencies, the CORE Case Competition puts students’ skills to the test, while giving them the opportunity to showcase teamwork.
